Water Efficiency and Enhancement Grant Program
~Receive up to $50,000 for irrigation upgrades~
As part of the state’s emergency drought response, the California Department of Food and Agriculture will disperse $10 million in grants for agricultural operations investing in irrigation and distribution systems that reduce water use and greenhouse gases.
· Applications are due July 15, 2014.
· Projects must reduce water and/or energy use.
· Installation must be completed within 6 months of grant award.
· Applications must include project design/detailed schematic.
· Applicants should plan to use and maintain the system for 15 years.
· Awards up to $50,000. No match is required, though a 50% match is recommended.

Who: Any agricultural operation interested in replacing or upgrading their irrigation system should attend.
The Santa Clara Valley Water District will provide grant application assistance to a limited number of applicants on a first come, first served basis.
