Are you interested in helping inform fair-market ag land rental rates for the County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department?

The County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department is trying to establish a fair market value for farmland rental that will take place at County Park in San Jose.

Are you a land owner or farmer interested in sharing some information about your ag land lease rates? This information is very helpful for organizations with land available for ag, to help determine fair market rates that work for farmers.

If you are interested in helping, please email Karen.Tan@prk.sccgov.org by September 12, 2014, with answers to any of the following questions:

  • Farm name and contact info
  • Lessor Status: private/ public agency:
  • Land location (city):
  • Lease terms: how many year/ month
  • Extension: if renewal or extension of the lease is possible and for how many years
  • Acreage of the lease property:
  • Irrigation status of the property (who provides water, is water pre-existing)
  • Does the lease land come with any infrastructure, facilities, or on site housing? If not, are they allow to be built during the lease?
  • Rent: Please include per month or per year
  • Variation for rent: possible increase based on CPI or other variations
  • Type of Crop grown:
  • Any commercial activities? If so, what type? And does the landlord gets a cut of the profit from those activities?
Thank you!
