CCOF Food Safety Training for Organic Growers and Handlers



CCOF is excited to be offering three food safety trainings in the fall.
With increasing demand for food safety plans from retailers and the final Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) regulations coming soon, now is a great time to start thinking about your food safety plan. Join CCOF in Bakersfield, Stockton, or Salinas for a Two-Day Food Safety Training: 
•  September 9-10 in Bakersfield, CA
•  October 15-16 in Stockton, CA
•  November 9-10 in Salinas, CA

 Food Safety Training for the Organic Grower or Handler
This course is designed for growers and handlers who are new to Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Food Safety, staff members who need training in food safety, and organic professionals needing to update and improve their food safety program and/or documentation.

This two-day workshop will prepare you for the new GFSI-benchmarked food safety certification offered by CCOF. The training will utilize the GLOBAL G.A.P. IFA standards and the Produce Safety Standard (PSS) for North American suppliers, i.e., the Harmonized Standards.

Participants will learn:
  • The key elements in a food safety plan
  • How to create the documents necessary for their operation’s food safety plan
  • How to successfully host a food safety audit
The course will include lecture, individualized instruction, sample food safety documents to use in your plan, and small group activities.

The same training will be offered in three different locations:
September 9-10, 2015 / Bakersfield, CA / 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day 
October 15-16, 2015 / Stockton, CA / 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day 
November 9-10, 2015 / Salinas, CA / 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day
