CSA Coordinator Position - Live Earth Farm, Watsonville, Calif.
Live Earth Farm, located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, is a diversified organic 80 acre, vegetable, fruit and livestock operation marketing its products directly to customers for 15+ years through its CSA and Farmers Markets, through local restaurants and retail
stores, and most recently via an on-line webstore to its CSA members.
About the Position
The CSA coordinator will manage an 800+ member CSA program, focusing on the administrative and logistical functions of the program, including handling the full complexity of daily customer service needs (via phone and email), and representing the face of the farm to the public at large. We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, self-motivated, trustworthy and responsible.
The job duties include (but are not limited to):
Responding to and managing daily CSA site host, membership and public inquiries and service needs.
Coordinating and working closely with Farm Managers and employees.
Managing web-based CSA data management system.
Preparing and organizing all necessary reports for weekly harvest, packing, delivery, and pick-up operations of the CSA.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
Work experience or strong interest in Organic Farming/Sustainable Food Systems
Strong organization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good diplomacy and judgment when it comes to working with the public
Proficiency with Apple computers, Mac OS and the internet
Proficiency with spreadsheet (Excel and/or Mac "Numbers") and word processing (Word and/or Mac "Pages") applications
Good math and financial calculation skills, with a general understanding of accounting preferred
Proficiency in Spanish (desirable)
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Detail oriented and able to follow through on tasks
Self-motivation and confidence
Ability to work full-time, including sometimes evenings or weekends
