We are lucky enough to be on the Big Island working with local Hawaiian organizations on Value-Added Production Workshops! With over 40 folks coming to the first workshop tomorrow, it sounds like it'll be a great day. We'll be touring a soap company, a certified kitchen and a farm/processing facility.
Yesterday, we met with farmers and a nonprofit to discuss starting a farmlink organization and to hear about some of the challenges of farmers in Hawai'i.
Next week we head to Maui to put on another Value-Added workshop!
We're hoping that this is the start of some nice partnerships with the Hawaiian sustainable farming community.
Here's also hoping that we get at least some snorkeling in!
