Allis Chalmers For Sale

A Posting from Craigslist:

I have been forced to shut down my farm and have to sell my baby.
This is one sweet tractor. I have converted my 1949 Allis Chalmers to a 48v electric tractor. Previously 10 hp, now goes up to 26 with many many more times the torque. At last look the G was estimated to have a fuel cost of 5800$/ 5 acres/year now it is reduced to about 12$ in electricity. No more distributor, oil, clutch, engine, radiator Just an electric motor and accompanying hardware linked directly into the 3 speed transmission.
This conversion has about 10 hrs on it with upgraded deep cell electric car batteries which go for about 400 each (4 total) Any farmer knows how sought after the model G is and that you can pay 3k for one in peices. The conversion kit goes for about 3600$ and the batteries are another 1600$ not to mention the machine work and the value of the tractor.
Here are some of its features!
Speed now varies from .001 mph to 20ish with maxium torque at any speed.
Unbelievable torque! I actually formed my beds with it.
Working hydrolic belly bar
3 speeds with no clutch
warranty on conversion parts
Brand new Rear tires
Easily adjustable wheel base
no idleing
never change engine oil again
Willing to throw in tools (4 culters, harrow , two 10 inch shovels and more.
quiet!
The tractor its self could use slight TLC, right brake needs replacement, working hydrolic belly bar should be updated but works as is, tie rods need tightening and maybe a few other odds and ends. Other wise it's a plug and play.
The conversion cost of this tractor runs about 6K when all is said and done. I could fetch 3500 easily for a working gas ACG. Converted G's normally got for a min of 8K. You can sometimes find them on te east coast for 6K
I am asking 7500$ a great price especially considering that it pays for its self in gas savings
i am willing to be flexable on the price but please dont dick me around. I have already received numerous offers but am unwilling to ship across the state unless it is made worth my while.
